#DigitalScholar Call for Expressions of Interest (2018)

At the World Summit on the Information Society in Geneva, Switzerland, on 12 June 2017, the Geneva Learning Foundation announced its first Call for expressions of interest (EOI) to tackle complex challenges around one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This EOI is now permanently open and all credible submissions are carefully reviewed.

View the presentation (20 minutes) of the announcement at the Workshop on the digital transformation of learning, education, and training on 12 June 2017 at the Summit.

For most if not all international organisations, three major challenges involve how to:

  1. scale up their education and other capacity-building efforts in ways that are financially sustainable;
  2. successfully transform and adapt for the Digital Age;
  3. foster and accelerate the growth of new, transformative leadership; and
  4. successfully execute on global strategies in ways that recognise and strengthen diversity.

The Scholar Approach, developed by the Geneva Learning Foundation in partnership with the University of Illinois College of Education and Learning Strategies International (LSi), is a proprietary methodology to tackle complex capacity-building, leadership, strategy execution, and other learning problems.

This methodology is relevant if your organisation:

  • faces a complex challenge that involves large-scale capacity-building, leadership, strategy execution, or learning with the goal of improving performance, results, and impact;
  • is interested in a scalable approach that can connect local communities to global networks;
  • is wrestling with how to successfully transform and adapt in the Digital Age; or
  • has found that conventional approaches do not deliver the outcomes that are needed.

We are especially interested in complex challenges in humanitarian, sustainable development, or global health issues. However, our Call for Expressions of Internet is also open to other thematic areas and industries.

Benefit from our ground-breaking sustainable business models for learning, education, and training initiatives

There is only one business model for learning interventions that can happen fast and be sustainable: institutions, individuals or both that stand to benefit must be prepared to pay enough to cover the costs of the intervention. In line with its commitment to demand-driven and financially self-sustaining initiatives, the Geneva Learning Foundation funds its action through innovative new education business models with the aim ensuring that each partnership is financially sustainable .
